Thought it would perform better on the UHF band then it does. It receives UHF signals marginally better than the stock 763-870mhz antenna.

Hi Jason. The external antenna on a G5 pager is only for 700/800. The UHF antenna is internal. If you place a UHF antenna on the external port on the G5 pager, it will NOT improve your UHF coverage. It will only degrade the 700/800. The only way to improve the UHF coverage on the G5 pager is to use an amplified charger and use the charger's BNC port for an auxilary antenna.

Defective?

I received it pretty quickly after ordering but when I hooked it up to the scanner I wasn't getting any antenna bars. I put the old antenna back on and i was got full bars.
